HONOR • REMEMBER • CELEBRATE

Veterans Day at PVMS

Preston Veterans Memorial School is named in honor of our veterans. Each year, our school community comes together to recognize their courage, service, and sacrifice.

We invite family members of PVMS students who are active-duty service members or veterans to attend. We would be honored to recognize the military members and veterans within our PVMS families during this special celebration.

Let’s Create a Meaningful Celebration

We are beginning to plan this year’s Veterans Day celebration and are seeking ideas, volunteers, military families, and community connections that can help us create a thoughtful and meaningful experience for our students.

We Are Looking for Ideas

We would love to hear ideas from PVMS families about meaningful ways our school can recognize Veterans Day. This might include ideas for the assembly, student activities, tributes, guest speakers, performances, educational displays, or other special ways to honor those who have served.

If your family has a military tradition, story, connection, or Veterans Day activity that could help inspire our celebration, we welcome you to share it with us.

We Need a Team of Volunteers

We are looking for a team of volunteers to help bring the Veterans Day assembly together. Volunteers may assist with planning, coordinating details, communicating with the school, and helping organize the different parts of the celebration.

Whether you would like to take an active role in planning or simply help with a specific task, we appreciate any amount of time you can contribute.

Helping Students Participate

An important part of the celebration will be finding thoughtful ways to involve PVMS students. Our volunteer team will work with the school and teachers to explore age-appropriate activities that allow students to learn about military service and participate in honoring our veterans.

Student involvement might include artwork, writing, music, speaking roles, classroom projects, or other meaningful contributions developed with PVMS staff.

Connecting With Our Community

We would also like to connect with local veterans’ organizations, military programs, speakers, performers, and community resources that may be able to participate in or contribute to the assembly.

If you belong to an organization, know someone who may be interested, or can help us make a valuable community connection, please tell us about it in the form below.

Proposed Hall of Heroes

One idea we hope to bring to life this November is a brand-new Hall of Heroes honoring veterans and active-duty service members connected to our PVMS families and the greater Preston community.

If we are able to make this idea a reality, students, families, and community members will be invited to submit photographs of their veteran and active-duty heroes. The photographs would be displayed throughout the school hallway, filling our halls with the faces of the brave men and women who have served or continue to serve our nation.

We hope the Hall of Heroes can become a meaningful new annual tradition at PVMS and a special way to recognize the heroes within our school families and throughout Preston.

This project is currently an idea we hope to bring to life.
Additional information and photo-submission instructions will be shared if the Hall of Heroes moves forward.

Have an idea or want to help bring the Hall of Heroes to life? Please let us know in the participation form below.

Active-Duty and Veteran Family Members

Family members of current PVMS students who are serving on active duty or who previously served in the United States Armed Forces are warmly invited to attend our Veterans Day celebration.

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, guardian, sibling, aunt, uncle, or another important family member of a PVMS student, we would be honored to recognize your service.

Please use the participation form below to let us know that you are interested in attending as an honored guest.

How Would You Like to Participate?

Complete the form to attend as an honored PVMS family guest, join the volunteer team, share an idea, help with the proposed Hall of Heroes, or connect us with a community resource.
