About Us

The Preston Veterans Memorial School (PVMS) PTO is a nonprofit parent-teacher organization based in Preston, Connecticut. We bring families, teachers, staff, and community members together to support our school, celebrate our students, and strengthen the PVMS community.

Our PTO helps support teachers, staff, and students by organizing activities that build school spirit and create lasting memories for our students and their families. Some of our popular events include the Back-to-School Kona Ice Truck, Grandparents Day Lunch, book fairs, the Veterans Day Assembly, Vendor/Craft Fair in the fall, Science Night, Field Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, and more! We could not put on these events without your help!

President: Kayla Thompson

Vice President: Johanna Thibdeau

Treasurer: Ashley Kornatowski

Creative Extraordinaire: Birdie Savage

PTO meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:45 p.m. in the PVMS gymnasium. All PVMS parents, guardians, and teachers are welcome to attend. A donation of $5 or more made by October 1st grants voting-member status for the school year.

We welcome volunteers and appreciate every level of participation. We understand that work, family schedules, and other commitments may make it difficult for some parents to volunteer regularly. That’s why we offer opportunities at different times of the day and throughout the school year.

Whether you can help at one event, volunteer behind the scenes, attend meetings, donate supplies, or participate more regularly, your involvement makes a difference. We hope every PVMS family can find a way to be part of the PTO in whatever capacity works best for them.

If you are a parent or grandparent and would like to volunteer, find the "Volunteer With Us" section on our website and you'll find upcoming events where we need volunteers.
